Healey Building (57 Forsyth Street) was built in 1913 and renovated into loft space in 1988. This photo was taken from the south side of Walton Street looking north toward the Healey Building. The Healey Building was designed by Walter T. Downing, who was also the architect responsible for Trinity Methodist Church at 265 Washington St. SW.
Visible behind the Healey Building (in the lower left hand corner of this photo) is the United States Eleventh District Court of Appeals at 56 Forsyth Street, which was built in 1911 and renovated in 1987. Prior to being designated a federal courthouse, it served as the main branch of the Atlanta Post Office. Unlike many cool old buildings in downtown Atlanta, this one has not been turned into residential loft space. In fact, it still serves as a federal courthouse.
